Joey Cinquemani
Director
Joey Cinquemani earned his B.S. in Computer Animation from Full Sail University and brings nearly a decade of experience working with 3D software and animation, along with a foundation in traditional Fine Arts. His personal work is rooted in 3D animation inspired by studios like Pixar and DreamWorks, often exploring themes of love, connection, and storytelling through movement. As Director of One River School, Joey is passionate about building a creative community where students feel supported, inspired, and truly at home.
Miranda Lewis
Assistant Director of Member Services
Miranda Lewis graduated from Cairn University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, majoring in Graphic Design. Miranda has years of experience working in customer care, while also pursuing graphic design as a Freelance Designer. Miranda's personal artistic work includes digital illustration, logos, typography, as well as drawing and painting mediums. She pulls inspiration for her work from human emotions, surrealism, and Japanese comics. Miranda loves working at One River School because it gives her the opportunity to create an environment where students are able to make lasting connections, express their artistic voice, and grow in curiosity.

Alanna Cali
Senior Educator
Alanna graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.A. in Studio Art. She works with a variety of art mediums, with a particular liking for sculpture, often exploring themes of the environment, femininity, and mental health. Her passion for contemporary art inspired her to pursue teaching, where she enjoys working with the youth. She encourages her students to explore their creativity through hands-on learning. Alanna strives to create a safe, inclusive environment where students feel free to express themselves and produce remarkable art. She loves working at One River, as it allows her to connect with her students and hopefully spark inspiration in their creative lives.
Alexa Wakefield
Instructor
Alexa Wakefield graduated with a degree in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz. She is currently going to grad school at the City College of New York for Museum Education and Art History which has been really rewarding so far. Alexa has been working as a teacher for 4 years and is currently working as a High School Art Teacher; although she has taught every grade level since starting her teaching career. In her own art practice, Alexa loves to draw, paint, work with clay, make digital art and learn new crafts as she comes across new ideas and art processes. She really loves working at One River for the community of teachers and students who all come together for the same love of art. Alexa is also very proud to work in a place where all students are accepted and feel comfortable to be themselves!
Jean Cipriano

Jonathan Kaplan
Instructor
Jonathan Kaplan graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a degree in Graphic Design, and currently attends the Masters program for Illustration at FIT. He is a high school art teacher during the day. As a comedian, he created, wrote, produced and starred in several award winning original web series and has performed stand up and improv in the NYC comedy circuit. At One River, Jonathan loves to help young people develop their foundational skills and become confident in expressing their unique voice.
Christine Avella
Instructor
Christine Avella earned her B.F.A. in Digital Arts: Animation with a minor in Creative Writing from Pratt Institute, where she developed a multidisciplinary approach to visual storytelling. Her personal work explores the intersection of animation and mixed media through stop-motion short films and digital illustration. As a Long Island native, Christine loves the opportunity to grow the local art community through her digital art classes at One River School, where she inspires students across K–12 to experiment, imagine, and create.
Claire Miller
Instructor
Claire Miller graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.A. in Studio Arts. She paints with oils on wood panels, exploring themes of family and nostalgia. As an avid garment-maker and basket-weaver, she examines the connection between craft and traditional visual art. In her free time, she creates digital illustrations and zines. She loves seeing the students at One River thrive, and shares their enthusiasm for all things cute and absurd.
Samantha Deane
Instructor
Samantha earned her BFA in Illustration from FIT & her Masters in Art Education from Queens College. Since then she has been a teacher and freelance artist- working on portraits, murals, album artwork and graphic design. Trained in traditional and digital media, Sam prefers watercolor, acrylics, collage, sculpture, jewelry making, and using ProCreate on her iPad.
Her favorite part of One River is the relaxed, supportive community of art lovers where learning is fun!
Daniel Fiore
Instructor
Daniel Fiore earned his B.F.A. in Illustration and an A.A.S. in Graphic Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology and brings over two decades of experience in illustration, graphic design, and high-end photo retouching. His creative work includes children’s book illustration and visual content for major clients such as Bloomingdale’s, Anthropologie, and Redfin and Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton. At One River School, Daniel brings warmth and enthusiasm to his classes, nurturing each student’s imagination and confidence through engaging art experiences.
